National Award Success for Leicester Conferences

National Award Success for Leicester Conferences
March 2010

Leicester Conferences at the University of Leicester recently celebrated their winning success at the Meetings and Incentive Travel National Industry Awards 2010 held in London on 22nd February 2010.

For the second successive year Leicester Conferences (the University's conference services) received a bronze award for Best Value for Money Conference Venue.

The awards ceremony was made at a glittering evening gala dinner in Hammersmith, London and hosted by Kate Silverton, presenter and broadcast journalist at the BBC.

Now in its 23rd year, the Meetings and Incentive Travel Awards are nationally recognised as the oldest and most prestigious awards of excellence within the meetings industry. It is the only awards programme where winners are decided by an independently audited democratic voting process.

The awards attract many entries from national and international organisations including Marriott Hotels, De Vere Venues, Warwick Conferences, Conference Aston and Imago.

Trevor Miller, Conference Sales and Marketing Manager, Leicester Conferences comments: "The conference team at the University are sincerely grateful to all our customers who voted for us and offered their support to help us accomplish our success. It's a fantastic achievement for us to be nationally recognised for a second year as a venue that consistently offers value for money. The team at the University works very hard to continually deliver an excellent service. We are very delighted that especially in the current economic climate our customers have recognised us alongside big industry names as a venue that continues to meet their needs."
