Keele Conferences and Events' Big 40

The Keele Conferences and Events team is delighted to be celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and has a calendar of activities planned to mark the occasion, including a special food event with a twist for its key customers and a ruby related competition for anyone celebrating their own 40th anniversary in the region.
The organisation has evolved over the past four decades from a small team hosting a selection of events, to an award winning academic venue organising conferences and events to clients both regionally and nationwide, offering a fully inclusive conference and event management service.
Deputy Head of Keele Conferences & Events, Marcus Wilson, said: "This year we celebrate 40 years of delivering the highest quality conferences and events, offering an unrivalled service to our customers. 40 years ago we were only just beginning to develop our understanding of hosting conferences and events. In fact, we began our journey hosting small scale Christmas parties at Keele Hall. The 1980's saw us really launch our conference business with an increasing customer base looking for large and flexible spaces to host their events and we were the perfect choice.
"Over the years we have expanded to suit our growing and diverse customer base, developing the Keele Management Centre in the 80s and the Chancellor's Complex in the 90s, which not only developed the centre of campus and enhanced the student experience of Keele, but also supported our move into large residential events. Our most popular space, Keele Hall has received the most development over the years, being transformed from a teaching space to one of the largest conference and banqueting spaces in Staffordshire."
Marcus added: "Our development over the last four decades has allowed us to become a market leader, offering unrivalled customer service and attention to detail. Our work has been formally recognised by our peers at a series of awards this year which is testament to all those at Keele who work so hard to deliver the best. We are looking forward to another 40 years delivering a top quality service to our customers."
Earlier this year the Keele Conferences and Events team kicked of their 40th year of celebrations by picking up a raft of industry awards including their 12th formal recognition at the M&IT Awards, hosted in February, where they picked up the silver award for ‘best value for money conference venue' and bronze for ‘best conference and banqueting staff', as well as receiving a trio of awards at both The University Caterers Organisation (TUCO) Food Service Skills Challenge 2010 the Taste of Staffordshire awards.
