Academic Venue Show Scores Again

The VENUEMASTERS team is delighted to announce that the 2011 Academic Venue Show was another successful event, with 325 visitors through the doors on the day.
Immediate comments posted by exhibitors on Twitter included Conference Aston pronouncing a ‘fantastic day at the Academic Venue Show. Great to meet so many new and existing event organisers!' In addition to this York Conferences also posted that they were ‘exhausted after a fantastic day at the Academic Venue Show!'
The event took place on Wednesday 11 May at the Emirates Stadium in London, home of Arsenal Football Club. There were 46 top academic venues exhibiting, promoting their facilities for a wide range of events. In addition there were two seminars, including a popular keynote session from Alastair Campbell on ‘the power of speech and the spoken word'. In addition to the exhibitor comments, feedback on the event from visitors has also been extremely positive.
Nancy Ackah from BECTU commented: ‘I especially enjoyed the show this year; more choice of venues with better facilities, including hotels on site to accommodate all year round bookings. There was even an exhibitor from Barcelona!' Paul Greenaway from CIMA added: ‘the Academic Venue Show was an excellent opportunity to meet with potential venues that I would not have otherwise contacted.'
The best stand award rewards exhibitors for their efforts in helping to make the show a success. This year's winner was Imperial College London whose theme was ‘can you feel the chemistry'.
VENUEMASTERS chief executive, Terry Billingham, gave his thoughts on the show: ‘This year's event was a great success, with some really positive feedback from visitors and exhibitors. The venues are now building on this success and the opportunity to showcase their facilities to event organisers. With a number of enquiries taken on the day and others placed since the event, the venue teams are now working hard to secure some valuable business.'
