Opening of £20million Sports Centre at Lancaster

A new £20million Sports Centre is to open its doors at Lancaster University in August. The building has achieved the BREEAM 'Excellent' rating which sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design. As well as University members, the state-of-the-art cente will also be open to conference delegates.
Facilities include a 25m 8 lane swimming pool, an 8 court sports hall, 10m high climbing wall, 100 station gym on 2 levels, 4 glass backed squash courts and a mirrored studio for dance, martial arts and fencing.
Lancaster University offers an extensive range of venues to suit all budgets, with meeting facilities from 10 to 600 delegates, and up to 250 en suite bedrooms during the Easter vacation and 1,000 during the summer vacation.
