Durham University host Team Member Recognition Event

On Wednesday 11th January, University Catering, Event Durham and Retail held their first ever Team Member recognition event at St Mary's college. These key University departments are involved in providing hospitality to not only Durham University students, but are also involved, in a variety of ways, in the organisation of Weddings, conferences, events and regional festivals. Event Durham being one of the key organisers at the recent Durham Traditional Christmas Festival held over the weekend of 2nd to 4th December 2011.
Simon O'Rouke, the face of sport for the North East and Cumbria, for the regional Tyne Tees Television News programme, North East Tonight, kindly agreed to be involved at the event, giving out the Awards to the well deserved winners.
Awards included Best Leader, Upseller of the Year and Going the Extra Mile. All 10 awards were hotly contested and Event Durham were shortlisted in 7 categories, winning 3 overall. Newcomer of the Year was won by Louise Elliott, Event Manager at Event Durham, Best Customer Service award went to Lucy McEnaney, Customer Relations Agent and Best Team was shared between Event Durham and Queens Catering.
